Easter Saturday saw the return of the popular charity golf tournament held by Fairline South Mallorca & Marine Unlimited.
The tournament took place at the Santa Ponsa 1 golf course, followed by lunch at the Hotel Golf Santa Ponsa, where 50 Fairline clients and VIP guests formed teams to compete for the main trophy and special prizes for “Closest to Pin” and “Longest Drive”.
Also up for grabs were numerous generously donated raffle prizes; ranging from hotel stays, car hire, and meals out to our star prize, a day charter on a 28ft Axopar in Menorca.
Jackie Lancaster, in charge of marketing for Fairline & Marine Unlimited, comments, “We were concerned that it would be difficult to raise money this year, but are thrilled by the enthusiastic response and generosity that we received from the participants and also our principle sponsors, Total Marine, Universal Nautic & Olmo Marine.
The ´beat the pro´ challenge proved to be popular amongst the players, providing them the opportunity to pit their skills against the formidable golf pro Peter Ledwidge to reach the green off the 7th tee.
Congratulations go to the winning team, comprising of Steve Ball, Tim Charnock, Mark Millward and David Lowe, also known as ´Cabelleros´ for their fantastic winning score of 6 under par with ´Tatasu´ claiming second prize and ´Frux Private Bank´ finishing third.
The wine flowed freely during the lunch where we were treated to an array of tapas, beautifully cooked steak, and a delightful cheesecake to finish off. Special thanks must go to Tatiana Pilati and her team from Hotel Golf Santa Ponsa for her help in organizing the meal and the fantastic service received from all the staff, and also to Peter Ledwidge for overseeing the day’s proceedings” A thoroughly enjoyable day for clients and friends of Marine Unlimited.
